School Year 2009-2010
A new school year is about to begin :o)
I am very excited! I love that I am blessed to be able to teach my children at home!
My mom-in-law just came out for a week. While she was here, she listened to the children read. I was excited and nervous to find out that Alex is reading at a 7th grade level. I am so excited about how much the children are learning here at home, and nervous that I may not be keeping up on how advanced they are.
But I was lucky to have my mom-in-law come out and test their reading levels and order school stuff for us! We ordered Sing Spell stuff for Tylor and Melodey and Alex will be reading the Konos reading list for the older kids and doing a write source for his grammar and LA stuff. We are doing Saxon Math again this year, as I loved teaching with it last year. She also ordered a couple of science in a nutshell kits from Delta Science. A weather one and a bubble one. I am doing the Konos Vol. 1 for the 2nd year, and that looks so exciting.
They will be going through Orderliness, Trust, Patience, Stewardship and Honor. All those topics have a ton of social science, science, bible, reading, art and music. The whole thing should be very exciting! God is so amazing how He has laid everything down before Brook and I. It should be amazing to see how He is going to use this school year to glorify Him!!!
