Homeschooling with another family

We have had such fun homeschooling with the Taylors. Kelly Jo has 10 children, all wonderful children :) We have been trying to get together at least once a week... as long as illness does not keep us apart. Here are some pictures of yesterday! They all work together so well, work gets done so quickly.

So 7 kids homeschooling together is a lot of fun. I really enjoy doing this and am excited that I have found that homeschooling is for me :)

Math help

I am searching for a new math program to use for the children for next year. I used Shiller math last year with Alex and even though I like it, I don't like that there is no student workbook for it. Teach and student work out of the same book. Not the best idea. This year I went with the program that my mother in law chose for her school, called Everyday math. This one I was really unhappy with, having the children jumping all over, not really sticking with anything long enough to understand the concept.

So I began looking, as my Kindergartener is doing workbooks from the dollar store and Alex will be done with his workbook in 3 weeks. I found the Math U See and thought it looked good. But after looking into the California State Standards, this program came no where near teaching what I need it to. I am now looking into Saxon Math. This might be the way I go and I will add in fun math games to break up all the workbook pages (I am not into busy work).

If anyone has any thoughts on this please leave me a comment. Thanks!
